DÚO XISTRA

      Duo Xistra is one of the most innovative ensembles on the current scene. Created in Galicia in 2017. 

        Xistra aims to break down the barriers that nowadays classical music seems to show and begin to look for a renewed vision, accompanied by a new sound for the period from the baroque to the contemporary.

 

      They present a program that does not make anyone indifferent, offering a musical experience that gives freshness, emotion, fun, dynamism and even performance.

 

      Their members Juan Cernadas (transverse flute) and Nerea Rodríguez (accordion), studied together in the Conservatory of Music of Aragon, receiving classes of important performers such as Cuarteto Quiroga, Kennedy Moretti, Xelo Giner, Nacho de Paz, André Cebrián, Ángel Luis Castaño, Iñaki Alberdi, among others

 

        They have been selected and invited to participate as Dúo Xistra to the Chamber Music Festival ‘’City of Mendoza’’ (Argentina), being the youngest musicians in the history of this festival. During their tour for South America they have performed a concert in National Conservatory of Accordion in Santiago de Chile. They have also been invited by Ignacio Fernández to prepare a conference in the same city.
In december 2017, they have been awarded the first prize in IMKA Music Competition (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and invited to perform in Army Hall in Sarajevo.

      In 2018 they performed in Convento de San Francisco, in I Chamber Music Festival ‘’Cidade de Pontevedra’’, in VI International Keyboard Festival (IKFEM) organized by Juventudes Musicales in Portugal, in the concert series ‘’Ciclo de Conciertos en la Ermita’’, organized by Juventudes Musical in Vinaròs (Spain), etc.
      They combine their  career by giving individual and chamber music master classes. In 2018 they have been teachers in the I Manuel Quiroga’s Music Course.
